UK scientists warn on funding for stem cell

Britain will lose its international lead in stem cell research unless the government does more to help translate the basic science into clinical trials, warned universities, industry and charities on Monday.

Researchers said the field needed much more funding and a clearer regulatory pathway to bring the benefits of stem cells to patients.
