Visa Europe sees spending rise

Spending on Visa credit and debit cards in Europe increased by 10 per cent last year in spite of the economic slump that hit many large economies.

Visa Europe, the bank-owned group that is separate from its listed US counterpart, on Monday said consumers spent a total of €882bn ($1,160bn) on all Visa cards last year, an increase of 10.3 per cent over the previous 12 months.
